As we celebrate Independence Day and our nation’s 250th anniversary, I reflect upon our good fortune to farm this remarkable place and share its wines with you.
There’s still plenty of growing season ahead, but this year’s crop is lighter than average. Yet after a happy winter, the vines are healthy and growing vigorously, which means our focus in the vineyard is on maintaining balance.
Every vintage presents its own opportunities and challenges, and every season asks us to adapt. That’s part of farming. We work with what nature provides. Whatever the season brings, we’ll do what we’ve always done: produce the finest wines we can from the fruit that nature gives us.
