2023 Gamble Estates Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Drawn from across our estate vineyards, this wine is expressive of the Gamble house style: balanced, finely structured and polished. Aromas of black cherry, dark plum, and ripe blackberry are layered with subtle cocoa nib and a light graphite edge. The palate is silky and approachable, with juicy dark fruit framed by ripe, refined tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of toast and subtle spice add dimension without overshadowing the fruit. The finish is clean and seamless, echoing dark berries and a touch of graphite.

One of Napa Valley’s coolest growing seasons since 1980, 2023 was nearly picture-perfect. A wet winter replenished soils, and a moderate summer allowed fruit to ripen at an even, unhurried pace. Brief late warmth added concentration without sacrificing acidity, and a dry harvest gave us the flexibility to pick each block at its ideal moment. The wines show layered dark fruit, firm yet supple tannins, and lively acidity, structured for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.
