2023 Gamble Estates Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents the very best wine from across all the estate vineyards. This vintage comes from some of our oldest blocks: Family Home Vineyard, where Founder Tom Gamble was raised, and the Winery Estate Homestead Cairo Block.

The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of blackberry and black currant, lifted by notes of violet, cigar box, and sandalwood. On the palate, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity create a seamless, elegant texture, while layers of dark berry fruit are complemented by subtle graphite minerality. Refined and restrained in its youth, the wine finishes with exceptional length, offering both immediate enjoyment and the structure to reward extended cellaring.

The 2023 vintage was one of Napa Valley’s coolest growing seasons in more than four decades. A wet winter replenished groundwater reserves, followed by a long, temperate growing season with no meaningful rain or late-season heat spikes. Many growers expected the season to change course, but ideal conditions persisted through harvest, allowing fruit to ripen slowly and evenly. The result is a vintage defined by freshness, balance, moderate tannins, and exceptional aging potential.
